I’ve reached the halfway mark here at Vigilant Management already! This work term so far has been filled with so many new experiences and this past week was no different. From project meetings to fundraisers, it was an exciting week.
This week, Lloyd joined Mark and I on a project we have been working on. We spent some time getting him up to speed on what is happening by reviewing construction drawings, meeting with the consultant, and conducting a site visit. I enjoyed working with Lloyd to see how his work experience allows him to tactfully voice concerns in a professional and positive way. You must conduct yourself as a leader who shows professionalism in order to gain respect from others and have a healthy working relationship. This, in turn, results in a positive outcome for all.
Katherine and Sarah were also busy this week preparing for our first fundraiser for Exile Island in support of the Children’s Wish Foundation. On Sunday, June 27th they held a fashion fair where people could purchase gently used brand name clothing. It was a huge success and a great start to our fundraising efforts! Events like these are another reason why Vigilant Management is such a great company to be a part of. They are involved in the community and contribute to several charities including the Ride for Dad and Children’s Wish Foundation just to name a couple.
As projects continue to move along, I’m sure this will be another great week!
